I Like – Interactive Projection Art on snow – Red Bull Off The Planet

Melbourne-based installation artists ENESS bring a new perspective to action sports by fusing interactive art with skiers and snowboarders flying through the air. To achieve this spectacle a 21′ inflatable sphere hovered between hits as proprietary software mapped 3D visuals onto the snow and sphere. Riders were tracked via an infrared camera as they flew through the air.

Magic Carp-Pet Rug and Coffee Table

Magic Carp-pet rug and coffee table set designed by Australian designer John Leung and Clarke Hopkins Clark Architects.

“The graphic apparition, replacing the traditional fish tank, is also a nod to the decreasing abundance of our most precious natural resource – water. Mythologically, the carp symbolises bravery and fortune. Linguistically, the ‘carp’ becomes a humorous extraction of the ‘carpet’ that reveals this intriguing little conversational piece on the floor.”

The word is out!!! 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar – we did it!!!

and finally we don´t have to keep it secret anymore. Remember our Club Med Doha holiday (see post of 2. July 2010).

image

Well, we weren´t really on vacation. On our secret mission to make the world a better place, we spent weeks and weeks in order to create a master-minded idea to convince the FIFA delegation that came to Qatar in September 2010 to vote for Qatar as a host for the 2022 Word Cup. And see:

It is the same place!!! And this is what was inside it:

Thanks to everyone who was involved: lead agency atkon, dan pearlman who did the interior design of the pavillion, sigma from Düsseldorf who were responsible for the entire technical set-up inside and to our dear Carmen from the Qatar 2022 Bid Committee, who spent days, nights, weeks and months with us in Germany. The outcome was breathtaking and obviously so thought Fifa. Congrats to all of us – we did it!!!

Oh look…!!!

and again our breathtaking designs seem to have made their way out into the world without us knowing it or without anyone asking…

Here they are again – our concept designs we once made for a potential client who then decided… well we´re not quite sure what they decided on, however we take it as a compliment that these designs were again taken by yet someone completely different -  Galileo – a famous German TV science magazine show. Next time – why not call  us directly in the first place – because I still think that ours look nicer ;-)

Here are our designs:

And here is what we accidentally found at Galileo:

And again – we´re always happy to make life easier for everyone else. If you need our help, please mail to: cooldesigns@wedoworkforfree.com

We´re back!!!

Yep – after such a long and cold winter and  the many cold days in spring we decided that we needed to breathe some desert air again. And so we´re back in 40 degrees dust and sand in the beautiful state of Qatar, in Doha, where we´re working on yet another exciting project in the Middle East. And boy is this a project again! But we can´t give you the details yet – TOP SECRET!!!!

Eingang Halle 02

We would like to extend a special thanks to Rudi from Three Mokeys Creative Consulting fz llc who supported us with the technical set-up. We greatly appreciate his expertise and support, which helped us a great deal along the way. And no – he is usually NOT cross-eyed!

With extraordinary dedication he spent long desert nights with us, laying the technical foundation for the upcoming project and literally worked until he dropped. Here´s proof ;-)
